MG Motor Australia is delighted to announce it has received five international design awards for a unique and innovative dealership wall sculpture and projection mapping display, inspired by the ZS EV.
The design won Platinum in the international MUSE Creative Awards; Gold in the world's largest design competition, A' Design Awards, and finally placed Gold in two categories, and Silver in a third, in Europe's Indigo Awards.
The sculpture is thought to be the first unique immersive installation to feature inside a car dealership. Titled 'Electric Meets Reality', the in-store experience wall is located at the flagship metro showroom, Sydney City MG.
Danny Lenartic, Marketing and Product Director, MG Motor Australia said: "MG's storied history is all about innovation, and combatting challenges with exciting design. Historically this has always applied to our cars, but we're delighted to see this mantra further recognised in the global design community through these exciting accolades for our dealership sculpture."
"It is a celebration of the path to electric innovation - the future - so it's only fitting that it's installed in the dealership located in Alexandria, the historic home of MG in Australia, where the first MG cars were sold many years ago. Our exceptional design partners, Eden Creative Media and Untitled Studio, have produced a brilliant and inspiring design for our flagship, and we thank them for this wonderful addition to the space."
The design features elements inspired by children's miniature toys, creating a fun, playful and engaging in-store experience. The Projection Mapping represents the electricity, while the sculpture portrays reality. When the two meet, they create an exhilarating experience and educate the shopper at the same time.
Adam Eden, Executive Producer, Eden Collective, said: "MG presented us with an opportunity to create something unique for an automotive dealership. The installation hinges on several core elements of the MG brand - innovation, fun, style, trust - bringing to life the future of electric vehicles through an eye-catching design. We're delighted that the piece has been recognised through these design awards, and hope MG's customers will love it as much as we do."
'Electric Meets Reality' was inspired by MG's first ever electric vehicle, the ZS EV. Due to arrive in Australia later in 2020, the model is an all-electric evolution of MG's best-selling compact SUV, the MG ZS, featuring pioneering technology derived from parent company, SAIC Motor. The ZS EV is highly practical, with large boot space, 8' colour touchscreen, integrated Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, six-speaker surround sound audio, and satellite navigation. The MG ZS EV also features the model's desirable Panoramic Stargazer Sunroof, one of the largest in the segment.
The MG ZS EV is available for pre-order at $46,990.
