Customers of MG: A pair of MG4s means double the fun for Gareth
Variety is the spice of life, or at least it is for Brisbane local Gareth Forbes and his pair of MG4's that are quickly becoming a staple sight around the city.
Gareth who works as a Release Manager for a Software Company in Queensland said his affinity for electric vehicles (EV's) originated from a simple point; he was tired of paying for petrol.

"Frankly, I got sick of paying for petrol. I did some calculations and even with repayments, going EV worked out to be cheaper," he said.
MG's have always had a strong presence in Gareth's life, with the MGTF being the first car that he ever purchased.
"I always had old MGs growing up. I had a MGTF as my first car. I loved it. When
I was researching EV's, a car reviewer friend highly reccomended the MG4. Then I heard it was rear wheel drive and I was sold," he said.
After a strong consideration of everything that was on the market over six months, Gareth pulled the trigger on a Volcano Orange Metallic MG4 64kWh Essence.
He said that it was the perfect vehicle for both him and his partner, so much so that it only took them four months before they welcomed another member of the MG4 to their family.
"From the beginning of thinking about purchasing an EV to actually buying one, it was around six months. From the first car to the second car it was only four months," he said.
Gareth decided to take his EV experience to the next level by acquiring a Brixton Blue Metallic MG4 XPower to pair with his first.
"I absolutely love the range and swiftness that the 64 Essence provides and with the XPower, the speed is just mindblowing."
"My wife owns a disability support service, specialising in art, uses the Orange
MG4 car as a work vehicle to get from client to client. She is doing almost 1000kms a week and the Essence has been a game changer."
"I was wanting to drive the Essence every day, but my wife was using it for work. So we decided to pull the trigger on the XPower, because why not have a 435hp supercar killer."
Despite living in an old Queenslander residence, Gareth has never had any issue when it comes to charging and said the infrastructure of the city has been very accommodating.
"My wife and I rent an old Queenslander and so far we have had no issues with charging, and we usually just use the old fashioned trickle charger. We also live close to a number of fast chargers. Sometimes my wife and I go to charge and visit a local cafe at the same time."
"Range anxiety is really not a problem for us either as Brisbane and the Gold Coast have a fairly large amount of fast chargers."
Once a very exclusive segment in the automotive market, cars like the MG4 are making it possible for everyone to make the switch to electric, leaving Gareth excited about what the future holds for the industry
"It is all very exciting. If this is just the start then I'm very excited to see where it goes, I'm very much looking forward to the arrival of the Cyberster later this year."
