The field of marketing has taken Tiago all over the world, and it's the sense of adventure his job brings that keep the Marketing Specialist driven to continuing to hone his craft here at Sydney City MG.
Originally from Brazil, Tiago had worked in the field of marketing for more than 13 years before beginning his career in Australia with MG.
"I've been working in marketing for more than 13 years, I'm originally from Brazil but my career has taken me to a number of different countries as a professional," he said.
It was this international connectiveness that inspired Tiago in applying for his role with MG.
"I love working for MG because it's a global brand, it's a company that is all over the world, that's what attracted me to work for them. I love the international connectivity of the company, it's something I truly appreciate about it," he said.
The tangible aspect of marketing is what has always drawn Tiago to his field. The ability to be creative, see your ideas come to life, and observe reactions to your creations are all aspects that allow Tiago to have as much fun as he does at MG.
"What drives me is being able to apply my creativity. I chose to work in marketing at MG because you can bring so many good ideas to the table," he said.
"Marketing opposed to something like finance has such great visibility, you can see the work we are doing, it's very outside, everyone can see what we are doing."
"It's on billboards, it's on televisions, phones, computers, it really is visible to everyone and that pushes me to be my best."
One of Tiago's first projects at MG, still stands out to him as one of his proudest moments he's had so far in his career at Sydney City MG.
"We put together a pop-up. I got to see it through from the start, choosing the location, the week, flyers, banners, etc," he said.
"There was a customer who came soon after we launched. He liked what he saw, he filled out the form, then he came here for the test drive and after the test drive he bought the car."
"He may have been just going grocery shopping, but instead he ends up buying a car with us, and for me that's very rewarding to see. That's the power of marketing and it's great to see your work pay off like that."
"The most rewarding part of my job is seeing, not just the sale, but seeing something you've worked so hard for come together, it could be a sale, a viral video, lots of conversions, just seeing a positive outcome from my hard work.
