Customers of MG: Jarrett's kiteboarding companion the MG4
For Jarrett Stock life has always been an adventure, whether it be carving up the ocean kiteboarding, tearing down the slopes on a snowboard, or traversing national parks all over the world.
The common thread amongst these activities is Jarrett's love for the natural environment, and his mission to always be searching for a "clean way" of having a great time.
When Jarrett purchased his MG4 51kWh Excite, he saw it as just another way to have a fun time while still being conscious of the environment.
The disability support worker, kiteboarding instructor and president of Kiteboarding Queensland said he'd been looking at the MG4 for a long time before finally pulling the trigger.
"For me I wanted a car that had great handling, good battery chemistry (LFP), and was affordable while also being reliable," he said.
"From all the reviews in the UK and Europe the MG4 was one to really keep an eye on. I followed it with a passion hoping it would come to Australia. When I heard it was coming out, I put down a deposit at my local MG dealership straight away."
Jarrett said the MG4 51kWh Excite has been exactly all he could have hoped for and has even surpassed a number of his expectations.
"I am actually surprised at how efficient the car is. I normally average about 12-13 kWh per 100kms which easily gives me about 400kms of range in a 51kWh battery, it's very impressive," he said.
"I also love the performance, it's so fast and handles corners exceptionally well. The regenerative breaking is very responsive and impressive."
Jarrett has been interested in the EV space for a long time and after getting solar installed on his house he said it just made sense to make the jump.

Jarrett has been interested in the EV space for a long time and after getting solar installed on his house he said it just made sense to make the jump.
"I had solar on the house, and it just made so much sense to use the solar to charge the car during the day, you are getting free energy in your car, it's a no brainer."
"Once we had the home battery installed, even if I get home when it's dark I can transfer the energy from the battery if inclined to do so."
Kiteboarding has always been one of Jarrett's biggest loves and a sport that he continues to be very involved in to this day.
"I love kiteboarding because it's a clean way of having a great time. Using the wind, waves, and sun is what the sport is all about, harnessing the power of mother nature," he said.
"Charging an EV off solar is very similar and that's what drew me to EV ownership, using the power and energy of mother nature."
"The MG4 has plenty of room for my kiteboarding gear. With one back seat down I can carry all my kites, surfboard and wakeboard for any session, it's great."
The MG4 also works perfectly as his work car. Jarrett is consistently behind the wheel taking his clients all around the place, with no two days ever looking the same.
"For disability work the car is perfect. As an NDIS support worker I drive a lot. Other support workers are spending upwards of $150-$200 a week on fuel."
"When I say that I charge my EV off solar for free they are shocked. It's the perfect car for supporting those in need to get to many places for different activities and appointments."
Jarrett said he loves his profession as a support worker, and that it really brings with it a sense of fulfillment that he is really making a big difference to someone's life.
"It's great to be able to support people to do what they love to do in everyday life. Helping others to reach their goals and dreams is what it's all about."
"Being a support worker enables people to find happiness in life. This brings me a sense of joy and satisfaction to see them achieving their goals."
The EV space is continuing to grow in Australia and Jarrett knows there are a lot of people still scared to make the jump, but in his eyes owning an MG4 just makes a lot of sense.
"It just makes so much sense to me. Driving an efficient vehicle that anyone can easily use. I have reccomended EVs to all of my close friends and relatives."
"Everyone fears something they don't understand, there is only one way to understand what an EV is about, drive one for a couple of days, a week, and feel the difference in the way you are now in control of how you put energy into your car instead of relying on petrol stations and the rise of fuel prices."
"I will continue to spread the good word about EVs because people need to reap the benefits of owning an electric vehicle."
