For Richard it is all about the team around you that allows you to operate at your full potential, and that's exactly what he feels the team at Five Dock MG propel each other to do.
"We have an exceptionally lovely team here at Five Dock MG, they are all great people and such a fun group to work alongside, it always makes the day-to-day that much more fun," he said.
It's the daily interactions with the customers who he said are equally "lovelY" and "incredibly interesting" a lot of the time.
"My job as a sales consultant is all about helping people to find what car works best for them."
"I love interacting with customers and being able to bring a smile to their face is always super rewarding."
While from a general outsider perspective, to be a successful salesperson, you have to attempt to be the loudest and most prominent voice in the room.
For Richard though, he's found it's his soft-spoken voice and generally quieter approach that has really propelled him to success
throughout his career in automotive.
"I am quite a soft-spoken person and I feel it comes out in my sales approach. I think a lot of customers tend to like me because I am a lot quieter and soft when it comes to interacting, which I think in terms makes them calmer too when viewing all our options here at Five Dock MG," he said.
While the daily interactions with customers and rush from getting a sale both get Richard up every morning, at the end of the day, it is the most important thing in his life that truly drives him on a daily basis. His family.
"Seeing a customer happy and satisfied for me is fantastic, not only because it means they got what they wanted but also because it shows me that I'm doing my job well," he said.
"But in terms of what drives me on a daily basis, it's my family, I've got two young kids and I need to support them so I'm always striving to be my best."
